As I write this, the last warm days of the year have passed us by and the Chicago Cubs are in the World Series. Legislation that I helped write to authorize student loan forgiveness in the event of the borrower death or disability passed both the Assembly and Senate and is now on the Governor’s desk. The Assembly also passed a resolution I wrote urging Congress and the President to enact legislation to ensure students have access to debt-free higher education at public colleges and universities.
